After trying for many years and many different careers to find my niche in life I finally found massage.
I was a professional Singer, Welder and Fire-fighter in the Navy, Waitress, Secretary, Bookkeeper, Computer Programmer, Stockbroker and finally an EMT all of which I did not find satisfaction or fulfillment in..
In 1993 my son and I moved to Sedona, AZ after the loss of my father.
Not knowing what to do, I grabbed a yellow-pages phone book, closed my eyes, asked God/Spirit to guide me, flipped through the pages, stopped and pointed to one spot. opened my eyes and there it was, Massage Therapy. I had never had a professional massage in my life before, so I didn't know what to expect. (At that time there was no licensure for massage in Arizona) I called the massage therapist that I was pointing to and asked if she would teach me. Well, as it it turns out she was starting a class and had 7 students I would be the 8th an even number and thus began my career in Massage Therapy.
Fast forward to today, (30 years) many massage classes and certifications later and I still love providing massages and helping people.
In 2000 I was asked to teach some massage classes at a school in Sedona and thus my massage teaching career began. I still provide massages but my passion has turned to teaching massage and helping therapists enhance their careers with a variety of classes.
